Course Description
Who Should Attend:This program is intended for all Child Support Enforcement (CSE) workers who process cases involving other states and need to understand the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA).
Overview and Focus:CSE workers are faced with managing cases that involve other states. In order to handle these cases, CSE workers must understand the regulations, statutes, and rules, as well as PACSES processing to effectively manage interstate cases. This course is designed to help the Domestic Relations Section (DRS) worker understand Interstate policy and procedures to help identify the best remedy to take in processing cases when at least one party lives in another state.
Course Competencies:- Determine the controlling order.
- Determine the state with continuing, exclusive jurisdiction (CEJ).
- Determine whether a support case meets circumstance(s) for long-arm processing (one-state action).
- Process a support case as a two-state action using the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA).
- Acknowledge and satisfy an interstate request as the responding state.
- Determine, log, and activate an interstate request type.
- Determine if a controlling order and CEJ exist.
- Update the Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement System (PACSES) with support order information.

100-Level Online
These courses provide in-depth instruction on each of the case management processes (i.e. Case Initiation, Locate, Paternity Establishment, Financials, Enforcement, Case Closure, etc.) used in the Title IV-D Child Support Enforcement (CSE) Program. The courses allow the participant to work at their own pace using case studies. The courses are designed for less experienced CSE staff who require additional knowledge and understanding of individual CSE topics. The training is also appropriate for cross-training personnel in more than one CSE area of expertise.
Working With the Military in Child Support Matters
This course focuses on how to work efficiently and effectively with military personnel, using procedures and methods consistent with the Federal and State statutes, regulations, and rules that govern military child support matters and the Title IV-D Child Support Enforcement (CSE) Program
